People’s High School

People’s High School, established in 1936, is a well-recognized co-educational institution located in the heart of Panaji, North Goa. Managed by a private-aided body, the school has been committed to delivering quality education for decades. With classes from 5th to 10th standard, the institution has consistently upheld high academic standards while also fostering overall personality development. English is the medium of instruction, ensuring that students are well-prepared to pursue higher education and global opportunities.

Infrastructure and Facilities

The school is housed in a rented building but offers a safe and well-maintained learning environment. It features 13 fully functional classrooms, each designed to support effective teaching and learning. Additionally, there are two extra rooms for non-teaching activities and a separate space for the Headmaster and staff. A pucca boundary wall and electricity connection add to the safety and reliability of the campus.

The school library is one of its strongest assets, holding an impressive collection of 8,463 books. This provides students with access to a wide variety of academic and reference material to support their learning journey. In addition, the computer-aided learning lab is equipped with 10 functional computers, giving students the advantage of digital learning in today’s technology-driven world.

Hygiene and Basic Amenities

People’s High School maintains a healthy and student-friendly environment. Drinking water facilities are available through functional tap connections, ensuring students have access to clean water at all times. The school also provides well-maintained sanitation facilities, with four toilets for boys and ten for girls. These measures reflect the institution’s commitment to health, hygiene, and inclusivity.

Sports and Extracurricular Activities

Education at People’s High School goes beyond the classroom. The campus includes a playground that serves as a space for students to engage in sports and recreational activities. Physical education is an important part of the curriculum, helping students develop teamwork, discipline, and leadership skills. The school also encourages participation in extracurricular activities, ensuring holistic development alongside academics.

Teaching and Learning Environment

The academic session at People’s High School begins in April. The teaching faculty is dedicated to providing quality education and instilling strong values among students. With the help of classroom instruction, digital tools, and library resources, teachers ensure that every student receives balanced exposure to academics, creativity, and critical thinking.

The school does not have an attached pre-primary section, but it provides a nurturing atmosphere for students from grades 5 to 10. Admissions are open to both boys and girls, making it an inclusive co-educational institution.

Mid-Day Meal and Accessibility

The school participates in the mid-day meal program, where meals are provided but not prepared on the premises. This initiative supports the nutritional needs of children and ensures better focus during classes. Additionally, the school is easily approachable by all-weather roads, making it accessible for students from surrounding areas.
